Our Mission, Vision, and Purpose
The Benevolence Ministry at St. Paul Baptist Church is to provide emergency financial assistance to St. Paul members and the immediate community to prevent eviction and utility disconnection. All other requests will be reviewed individually.
Guidelines for getting service
Benevolence Guidelines for St. Paul Members
A Benevolence application form must be filled out and submitted.
In order for the Benevolence application to be processed, the following guidelines must be followed:
- The application must be completed in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
- All information on the application must be true. Inaccurate information will result in the applicant's ineligibility to receive funds.
- A current statement verifying the past due bill must be included with the application.
- Persons requesting assistance must be in danger of utility disconnection or eviction from home within seven to ten days. They should have received a disconnection notice for utilities, and a late notice or eviction papers for rent. These notices must be submitted with the application.
- Persons requesting assistance must provide proof of any and all household income for the last 30 days, picture id, and social security card.
- NO assistance will be given for deposits.
- Assistance will be given for only ONE past due bill.
- St. Paul will assist members with financial needs once every three years.
- The amount of funds that will be donated in each category are as follows:
Rent $25 - $300.00
Mortgage $25 - $300.00
Utilities $25 - 250.00
If the past due amount exceeds the maximum amount awarded, you must provide written evidence (certified check, money order or letter of commitment) that you have the remaining amount due on the account before funds will be released. IT IS NOT GUARANTEED THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE THE MAXIMIM ALLOTTED. NO AMOUNT WILL BE GUARANTEED UNTIL ALL REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET.
- Applications are received on Monday and Tuesday during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.. No applications are processed on Thursday or Friday.
- Checks for approved funds will be mailed out on Thursday after all requirements have been met.
Benevolence Guidelines for Non-St. Paul Members
A Benevolence application form must be filled out and submitted.

Utilities $25 - $150.00
